Through the lens of Akira2000

Akira2000 is a Portuguese photographer, artist and art director with a strong focus on photography and moving image. His practice is driven by a personal and cinematic vision, drawn to immersive, abstract and introspective narratives that place the viewer inside an experience rather than in front of one.

He works across still photography and film, developing projects that reflect a singular visual language built on atmosphere, personality and intention. His images do not describe things, they inhabit them.

We invited him to spend time with the Frontier tray and document it entirely on his own terms. The locations were his. The light was his. The frame was his. What follows is one person's relationship with an object, and the images that came from it.
